Photographe français, David DREGER est né le 13 juin 1967 dans le nord de la France.
Il découvre la photographie argentique très jeune grâce à son père « Jeune, mon père s’est vu offrir un appareil argentique par son oncle, la passion s’est ensuite transmise de père en fils. Mon père a arrêté la photo lorsque ses enfants sont nés. A l’époque il faisait beaucoup de diapositives ».
Il obtient un baccalauréat G3 (Gestion), puis un Master 2 en Administration Economique et Sociale et démarre sa carrière professionnelle dans le commerce, un peu partout en France (Tours, Montpellier). En 1999, il évolue vers l’audit interne puis les ressources humaines dans la distribution spécialisée. En 2011, il rejoint Nocibé, de nouveau sur l’audit interne.
Il reprend contact avec la photo en réalisant une série de portraits pour ses proches en argentique. Suite à cette série d’images, il achète son premier appareil photos numérique Pentax et c’est là qu’il démarre sa carrière artistique.
Puis, fasciné par les portraits, l’esthétique et la mise en scène en studio et en extérieur, il découvre et étudie le travail de Newton, Lindbergh, Sieff ou encore Doisneau. C’est à ce moment qu’il décide de se consacrer à la photographie, en créant son premier studio pour faire ses clichés de manière professionnelle.
Pendant 4 ans, il réalise toute une série de clichés en France et à l’étranger, avec le projet de réaliser une exposition consacrée à la beauté féminine. C’est en 2015, que ce projet voit le jour avec « Premières Indiscrétions », une série d’une vingtaine d’images où l’artiste sublime toutes ces muses aux univers différents.
A l’issue de cette exposition, David prend la décision de se consacrer entièrement à la photographie.
Depuis 2015, l’artiste partage son travail photographique entre les Etats Unis, l’Afrique, l’Europe et l’Amérique du Sud. En 2019, il consacre une seconde exposition à Lille sur le thème de l'androgynie intitulée "Garçonne". En 2020, il sort le premier volet d'une trilogie consacrée à l'Amérique du Sud. Un Voyage sacré, traduit en espagnol retrace le parcours du photographe en 2018 à travers le Pérou. Le second ouvrage à paraitre sera, quant à lui consacré à l'Equateur et paraitra en 2023.
David DREGER expose en 2020, à Amiens, une série de photos retraçant les 10 dernières années de son travail qu'il intitule "21 regards".
Il vient d'éditer un second livre en qualité premium consacré à New-York et intitulé "Shades". L'ouvrage est disponible sur le store du site.
Le photographe s'est installé depuis peu dans la ville du Tréport, en Normandie. Il prépare un nouveau voyage en Floride pour le mois d'octobre 2022.

French photographer, David DREGER was born on June 13, 1967 in the north of France.He discovered film photography at a very young age thanks to his father “When I was young, my father was offered a film camera by his uncle, the passion was then passed on from father to son. My father stopped photography when his children were born. At the time he did a lot of slides.
He obtained a Master 2 in Economic and Social Administration and started his professional career in commerce, all over France (Tours, Montpellier). In 1999, he moved to internal audit and then human resources in specialized distribution. In 2011, he joined Nocibé, again on internal audit.He reconnected with photography by making a series of portraits for his relatives using film. Following this series of images, he bought his first Pentax digital camera and it was there that he began his artistic career.
Then, fascinated by portraits, aesthetics and staging in the studio and outdoors, he discovered and studied the work of Newton, Lindbergh, Sieff and Doisneau. It was at this time that he decided to devote himself to photography, creating his first studio to take his shots professionally.
For 4 years, he made a whole series of shots in France and abroad, with the project of creating an exhibition devoted to female beauty. It was in 2015 that this project was born with “Premières Indiscrétions”, a series of around twenty images in which the artist sublimates all these muses with different universes.
At the end of this exhibition, David made the decision to devote himself entirely to photography.Since 2015, the artist shares his photographic work between the United States, Africa, Europe and South America. In 2019, he devoted a second exhibition in Lille to the theme of androgyny entitled "Garçonne". In 2020, he released the first part of a trilogy devoted to South America. A Sacred Journey, translated into Spanish, retraces the photographer's journey in 2018 through Peru.
